NICRODUR 450 is a high-strength, quenched and tempered wear-resistant steel boasting a nominal hardness of 450 HBW. Its chemical makeup generally includes carbon (max 0.30%), manganese (1.0–1.7%), silicon (max 0.70%), along with alloying elements like chromium, nickel, and molybdenum that boost toughness and hardenability. NICRODUR 450 showcases impressive mechanical properties, including high yield strength (around 1100–1250 MPa), robust tensile strength, and remarkable resistance to wear and impact.
