EN19, also referred to as 709M40 or AISI 4140, is a high-tensile alloy steel that contains around 0.35–0.45% carbon, 0.70–1.00% manganese, 0.15–0.35% silicon, 0.80–1.10% chromium, and 0.15–0.25% molybdenum. It boasts a tensile strength ranging from 850–1000 MPa and a yield strength of 680–880 MPa when heat-treated. EN19 steel is known for its remarkable toughness, good ductility, and impressive fatigue strength.
