NICRODUR 500 is a quenched and tempered wear-resistant steel plate, boasting a nominal hardness of 500 HBW. Its chemical makeup includes carbon (up to 0.30%), manganese (1.0–1.7%), and silicon (up to 0.70%), along with alloying elements like chromium, nickel, and molybdenum that enhance hardness, toughness, and wear resistance. NICRODUR 500 delivers impressive yield strength (typically exceeding 1250 MPa), excellent tensile strength, and remarkable impact resistance. Despite its high hardness, it remains easy to machine and weld, making it ideal for creating complex components used in demanding working conditions.
