ABS AH36 is a high-strength structural shipbuilding steel primarily made up of carbon (0.18% max), manganese (0.90–1.60%), silicon (0.10–0.50%), phosphorus (0.035% max), and sulfur (0.035% max), along with trace elements that boost its performance. It boasts excellent weldability and impact resistance. The mechanical properties include a minimum yield strength of 355 MPa and tensile strength ranging from 490 to 620 MPa, with a minimum elongation of 21%. The material is also tested for toughness at -20°C. These characteristics make ABS AH36 perfect for ship hulls and marine structures that demand high strength and resilience.
